I met Manny (Emmanuelle) my first year in medical school in Israel through his sister Sarah, she and I were classmates, both of them caring, insanely intelligent, and passionate for life, love and knowledge. Manny would play soccer and football with us every week, and I felt so fortunate to listen to his theories, his ideas, and his opinions. He never failed to bring intensity to whatever sport we were playing, and he never failed to bring that same level of intensity to everything he did in life. When he was first diagnosed with cancer, I said to myself that I shouldn't worry, that he could beat this, and he would go on because he was strong but somethings you can't control. I was fortunate to meet his wife and child, albeit briefly, before returning to the US to train , and I remember our last meeting like it was yesterday. Manny and Sarah are two people I can honestly say I agree with 100% of the time, and its hard to meet people like that, who can touch your life in such a positive way, enough to leave an everlasting impression. Manny brought so much life into the entity that is life, even in his short, abridged , and interrupted existence, he managed to make it count…make it count more then most do, and I always appreciated that about him. I can only hope and pray that his family, his loving wife and beautiful child remember him for his exemplary attitude and accomplishments. He was a great man, but managed to keep the curiosity of a child. God Bless Manny Tannenbaum, his sister, and his family. He is certainly in a wonderful place, and I wish that peace come swiftly to the ones he loved and the ones that love him! Take Care and God Bless you all.

ההכרות שלי איתך מני הייתה קצרה אבל מאוד משמעותית. מרגע שהכרתי אותך שינית לי את חיי. חיכיתי לסופי השבוע במינסוטה ולבילוי שלנו.
הייתי לפני גיוס והיית לפני שנה אחרונה במינאופוליס.
שנה אחר כך נפגשנו לזמן קצר בארץ. מאז לא ראיתי אותך. קיוויתי אבל לא יצא.
אמנם זה היה קצר אבל השמים זכו במלאך.
